RARIK has announced it will compensate customers for electrical devices that were destroyed or damaged following a fault in Landsnet’s distribution network in early October. Consequential losses, however, will not be covered.

Electricity has been restored in Vík with backup power after a failure last night. Work is underway to bring electricity to other parts of the area. Power cuts are likely to last for the next day, and residents are asked to use power sparingly.
